Fitness requirement

This tour is suitable for people of all fitness levels. There is some walking, but it is not strenuous. The tour is suitable for people with walking aids, but unfortunately our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible.

 

Group size

Minimum group size is 16 persons. Offroad Dreaming does not have a presence on board any cruise ships. Please be aware that you will need to ensure that your group meets the minimum size for the tour to go ahead. Multiple groups of up to 20 can be arranged for the same day.

All year round – options may change during the wet season

 

Pick up

We can pick you up right from the Darwin Cruise Ship Terminal at your time of arrival.

 

We do not always pick up at the Port as soon as you arrive – if you arrive early, we will decide a slightly later suitable time to meet.

 

Drop off

You will be dropped back at the terminal with plenty of time before your ship leaves.

Lunch

We do not provide lunch for Crocs and Spots but do provide a freshly prepared picnic lunch for Litchfield National Park Tour.

Snacks and chilled drinking water throughout the day is provided on both. 

Our buffet picnic lunch generally includes a selection of deli meats, feta and salads with wraps and plant based fillings. Let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.

  • Exotic Wildlife In The Monsoon Forest

    We will pick you up from the terminal and head straight to Berry Springs Nature Park to spend the morning. Here you can take a dip in the shallows of a natural spring pool or wade into the cooler deep water for a refreshing swim. We will head into the nature park’s monsoon forest, where a wide variety of wildlife and tropical plant species thrive.


    Later in the day we’ll stop at the Adelaide River, for your private Crocodile Cruise with our wildlife expert and skipper Rex. Here you can view these wondrous tropical reptiles up close, as Rex shares with you his knowledge.

Incredible Nature And Wetland Views

Our first stop for the day is at the Fogg Dam conservation area, a wildlife haven with the highest diversity of species in the region. Further along the Arnhem Highway we’ll visit the Wetland View Top centre, boasting 270 degree views of the wetlands and interactive educational displays. Where the Adelaide River meets the Arnhem Highway, we will meet wildlife expert and Crocodile Cruise skipper Rex. 

 

You are in safe hands here as he gets you up close (not too close) to his beloved crocs and shares with you his knowledge of the magnificent tropical reptiles. Before returning to the terminal, we’ll take you on a tour of Darwin, showing you the historic, cultural and natural landmarks that make Darwin what it is today.

Option 3: Litchfield National Park

Take A Dip Under Imposing Waterfalls

Our first stop of the day is a visit to the site of the magnetic termite mounds, where your guides will teach you about their formation and value to our unique tropical ecosystem. Mid-morning, we will take the boardwalk through the lush monsoon forest to the impressive Wangi Falls


Here you will hear about the ancient stories of the people and the land and have the chance to swim in the natural pools beneath the impressive falls. A freshly prepared buffet picnic lunch will be served up in a shaded spot in a beautiful bush setting near Wangi Falls. After lunch, we will drive on to Florence Falls with their majestic double flowing waterfalls. 


You’ll have the the chance to see the falls from above and swim in the pools below. You will have the chance to take one final dip at the gently stepped pools of Buley Rockhole before we head back to Darwin.
