What to expect on your Kakadu Day Tour
Ubirr and Nadab

Upon entering Kakadu National Park, we make our way to Ubirr Rock, the site of some of the world’s oldest rock art. Your guide will take you on an interpretative walk through the ancient rock galleries, where you will hear about the history and culture of the traditional custodians.
We make our way up to the Nadab Lookout, which provides amazing 360° views over the wetlands of the Nadab floodplains.
Guluyambi Cultural Cruise

Your local guide, a descendant of the traditional owners, will join us on the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise as we travel along the East Alligator River which divides Kakadu and Arnhem Land. We are honoured to be invited onto Arnhem Land shores to see a Cultural demonstration of how the Bininj people work with the waterways to this day.
The cruise is a great opportunity for visitors to hear about the area, history and culture directly from the traditional custodians.
This small group, guided cruise is a truly special insight into Aboriginal culture and its ancient wisdoms.
During October and May, we will revert to our wet season itinerary for the Kakadu Day Tour. This will include visiting the Rock Art Galleries at Burrungkuy, Nourlangie Rock, instead of Ubirr and we will take the Yellow Waters Billabong Cruise instead of the Guluyambi Cruise. An equally in depth day of activities in Kakadu, just in a different region. This is due to heavy rainfalls over these months, which can cause sudden access problems in the North Eastern region with some road closures and location restrictions.
Wet season itinerary

Based on the weather and seasonal conditions, we change our Kakadu itinerary. On the days where Ubirr and the East Alligator River are not accessible due to water levels, we often travel into the heart of Kakadu’s Nourlangie region. We start with a gentle walk to the ancient rock art galleries at Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock). Your guide will tell you about the culture and art that has existed here for tens of thousands of years.
We will then stop to enjoy our freshly prepared picnic lunch, which generally includes a selection of meats and salads.
Later in the day, we’ll take you on a cruise through the vast Yellow Water Billabong, which is teeming with wildlife. Your guide will take you across the water, sharing with you, their vast knowledge of the region.
