1 Day Private Litchfield Day Tour with Crocodile Cruise
Leaving the city behind, we make our way southwest towards the beautiful Litchfield National Park, using one of the lesser-travelled roads.
Leaving Darwin behind we make our way east to the Adelaide River system and wetlands for a private crocodile cruise. Here you will get as close as safely possible to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat and hear about the characteristics of these amazing creatures and how they have survived for millions of years. We then make our way back across the Adelaide River Floodplains heading south west to Litchfield National Park using some of the lesser-travelled roads.
Our first stop in Litchfield National Park is Wangi Falls, where you will see the water from the two falls cascade over the rock escarpment into the large pool below. Here you can choose to relax in the tranquil surrounds, dip or swim in the crystal clear plunge pool (seasonal restrictions apply) or bushwalk through the monsoon forest to a treetop viewing platform or for the more adventurous a loop walk that takes you up and over the falls.
After enjoying a freshly prepared picnic lunch we make our way to Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole where you will have the option to swim in their adjacent fresh, cool, plunge pools and walk along the Shady Creek walk through the monsoon forest. The scenic viewing platform high above Florence Falls will give you panoramic views of falls and the waterhole below, while at Buley Rock hole you can sit, relax and let the water flow past you, while absorbing the scenic bush surrounds.
Before we leave Litchfield National Park, a stop at the spectacular termite mounds is a must. Here, we will hear about their unique role in our tropical ecosystem and see the impressive, gigantic cathedral and magnetic termite mounds towering over the landscape, in their living, growing forms.
After a refreshing afternoon snack, we start our journey back towards Darwin, the tropical capital of the Northern Territory, returning in the early evening.
